2025 CALL FOR HEALTH RESEARCH PROPOSAL
What is RRF?
The Regional Research Fund (RRF) initiative encourages early-career researchers to actively participate in health research activities without competing with experienced researchers. Through this initiative, early-career researchers gain valuable experience that enhances their competency in designing, implementing, and managing health research projects. Once they establish a strong track record, they are encouraged to apply for larger-scale research project or program grants offered by DOST-PCHRD, DOST, the Department of Health (DOH), the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and other national and international funding agencies.
Who may apply for RRF?
For the purposes of this grant, early-career researchers are defined as individuals at the graduate or postgraduate level, up to five years post-PhD/MD. Additional eligibility requirements are as follows:
- Regular staff or faculty members of CVHRDC member institutions.
- Medical residents of hospitals may submit proposals but must work under the supervision of a consultant or experienced researcher in the region, who shall serve as the main proponent.
- Other faculty or staff of research institutes, medical and paramedical schools, hospitals, and other health-related agencies that are not yet members of CVHRDC (subject to the approval of the regional consortia).
- Must not have any existing accountability with DOST and its agencies, particularly technical and financial reports; and
- Must not have been found guilty of administrative or criminal cases, including those in appeal.
An inter-intra-institutional collaborative research and development undertaking will be given higher priority for funding.
