The Cagayan Valley Health Research and Development Consortium (CVHRDC) in collaboration with Isabela State University (ISU)- Ilagan Campus conducted the second batch of the Basic Research Methods Training held at Ilagan Campus Library, City of Ilagan, Isabela last April 03-05, 2019.
The three-day activity aimed to provide, update, and upgrade the knowledge of the participants in establishing a quality health research proposal which would then be evaluated by the Technical Review Board of the consortium. Moreover, the consortium is currently prioritizing health research proposals on the following areas:
• Emergency response, disaster risk reduction management for health, and climate change adaptation
• Drug discovery & development
• Health Technology development and Innovation
The training was spearheaded by the BRM Core Team, Dean, CSU-CAHS and CVHRDC Executive Director, Dr. Julius T. Capili, Faculty, QSU and CVHRDC-Research Management Committee and Technical Review Board Chairperson, Dr. Melfei E. Bungihan, and Faculty, CSU-Andrews, Prof. Hilaria M. Barsabal.
The activity was attended by 30 participants from Isabela State University- Ilagan Campus, Echague Campus, Cauayan Campus, Southern Isabela General Hospital, Saint Ferdinand College and Integrated Midwives Association of the Philippines.
The participants were tasked to present their capsule proposal for critiquing and the BRM core coached them on how to enhance their capsule research proposals. With this, the consortium expects to receive more capsule proposals ready for evaluation and funding coming from said participants.
