June 14, 2023 | The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Regional Office II thru the Cagayan Valley Health Research and Development Consortium (CVHRDC) in collaboration with the Alliance for Improving Health Outcomes (AIHO) conducted a Research Priority Setting Workshop at NGN Grand Hotel, Tuguegarao City.
Moreover, the latter agency was commissioned by Philippine Council for Health and Research and Development (PCHRD) to develop the National Unified Health Research Agenda(NUHRA) 2023 - 2028.
Consortium Members Institution have discussed important research priorities that will advance Research and Development (R&D) in our region. The workshop set regional research priorities. Identified the key areas to focus on through interactive sessions, brainstorming, and open dialogue. These discussions will guide future research to ensure sustainable and transformative change.
The top 10 Health Research Priority identified for the region are:
1. Reproductive, Maternal, Child, and Neonatal Health
2. Lifestyle-related Diseases/ NCDs
3. Mental Health and Substance Abuse
4. Health Systems Strengthening
5. Infectious Diseases
6. Environmental health
7. Health Economics
8. Health of Vulnerable Population and Indigenous Cultural Communities (IPs/ICCs)
9. Food Security and Safety
10. Drug Discovery
Thus, with these health research priorities stated, it will be the basis for the construction of the Region 02's Regional Unified Health Research Agenda 2023-2028.
