DOST 02 equips budding research trainers’ with vast knowledge through Trainer’s Training

November 21-23, 2023- The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region 02 through the Cagayan Valley Health Research and Development Consortium (CVHRDC), successfully hosted a pivotal event – the Basic Research Methods: Training of Trainers at Villa Blanca Hotel in Ugac Norte, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

The primary objective of this initiative was to cultivate a pool of experts and resource speakers poised to mentor early-career health researchers through the annual Basic Research Methods Training program.

The training workshop featured distinguished resource speakers, Dr. Ofelia Saniel and Dr. Paul Adrian Pinlac, both hailing from the esteemed University of the Philippines- Manila.

Notably, Region 02 currently boasts only four existing trainers. However, following this comprehensive training program, a significant influx of expertise is anticipated. A total of 16 carefully selected applicants from various consortium institutions actively participated, marking a substantial expansion of the training and a promising stride toward enhancing research capabilities in the region.
