Through the initiative of Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) in collaboration with Cordillera Regional Health Research and Development, the recent 12th Philippine National Health Research System (PNHRS) Week Celebration with the theme “Research and Innovation for Equity in Health”, from the 6th to 9th of August 2018 in CAP John Hay, Trade, Baguio City, brought together member institutions, Research enthusiasts, Health providers, Research Ethics Committee from across the country.
The various sessions and parallel discussions addressed the current situation, challenges, and advancements related to improving health and equity through research and innovations.
Updates on how to improve the health status, productivity and quality of life of every Filipino were also presented.

The CVHRDC had an exemplary performance in the said event. Dr. Melfei E. Buhingan- CVHRDC Research Management Committee Chair received Technical Review Board Manual, Ms. Joyce Marie H. Kimayong from SMU ranked third during the Poster Exhibit Contest- Student Category with her study entitled “Antioxidant, Anti-inflammatory, and Anti-tumor Properties of Mani- manian (Arachis pintoi) Leaf Crude Extract”, while; Mr. Eladio Martin S. Gumabay , of USLT is a finalist during the Poster Exhibit Contest- Professional Category with his paper “Leadership Skills of Nurses on Patient Safety Culture in a Tertiary Hospital in Tuguegarao City”.
With this, the CVHRDC vowed to continuously support innovative ideas for health to promote and develop the life of community in the region.
