The Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development (CVCHD) accepted two health research projects entitled "Health-Related Quality of Life and Health Seeking Behavior of the Residents of Cagayan Province: Its Relation to Health Literacy on the Priority Areas of the Department of Health" and "Responsiveness of Primary Healthcare Facilities in Cagayan Valley Region”, conducted by the University of Cagayan Valley and the University of St. Louis Tuguegarao, respectively.
Regional Director Amelita Pangilinan congratulated all contributors for their dedication, which led to the successful completion of these research initiatives, highlighting the significance of the projects’ potential impact on healthcare delivery and the region's well-being that resulted in their acceptance by the Cagayan Valley Health Research and Development Consortium (CVHRDC).
Moderated by Research Management and Development Head Ms. Carissa Pagulayan, the two research projects were accepted and commended; further shared that one of the recently commissioned research projects, entitled "Determinants of Maternal Mortality in Cagayan Valley", was chosen to be a national finalist for the PNHRS Week 3-Minute Pitch to Policymakers on August 9, 2023, to be held in Tacloban City.
Subsequently, ARD Mar Wynn Bello expressed his gratitude for the participants' presence and shared the promise of a journey toward innovation and progress in the healthcare sector. “We also hope for future research to be simpler and more beneficial for the development of health in the region and the country”, he added.
The event marked a momentous step forward in the region's research and development endeavors, holding the potential for positive transformations in healthcare and well-being for the residents of Cagayan Province.
