The Cagayan Valley Health Research and Development Consortium (CVHRDC), in collaboration with the Medical Colleges of Northern Philippines, successfully concluded its informative Webinar Series today via Zoom entitled "Establishing the Ethical Character of Health Research Outputs: Emphasizing Accession to Various Ethics Clearances and Permits”.
Mr. Reynaldo M. Adducul of MCNP extends a warm welcome to all participants. In her opening message, Dr. Razel Nikka M. Hao, the Regional Director of DOH-02 and Co-chair of CVHRDC highlighted the need for continuous innovation and development of health research aimed at benefiting the public.
"Adhering to ethical guidelines, obtaining necessary approvals, and securing permits are crucial steps in our research journey that guarantee the reliability of our research results,” Dr. Hao stressed.
The webinar featured esteemed resource speakers who delivered expert presentations on securing Animal Permits, Gratuitous Permits, and Biosafety Clearances namely Mr. Dondon Adan S. Bait, Regional Animal Welfare Officer of the Department of Agriculture, Ms. Teresita P. Rivera, Senior Ecosystems Management Specialist of DENR, and Ms. Ruby S. Garcia, Focal Person, DOST-Biosafety Committee
The highlight of the webinar was the engaging open forum. The interactive session allowed attendees to seek clarification, share experiences, and gain a deeper understanding of the accession of health research permits.
Last January 19, 2024, Part 1 of the webinar was conducted with the topics on securing ethics Clearance and NCIP Inform Consent Form.
The CVHRDC under the DOST-02 led by Dir. Virginia G. Bilgera, remains committed to advancing research initiatives and providing valuable platforms for knowledge dissemination. Thus, the success of the webinar series underscores the consortium's dedication to enhancing ethical standards in health research for the greater benefit of the public.
