Meanwhile Chairperson, Dr. Julius T. Capili shared the 3Rs secret of CVHRDC's success which are RESOURCE, good RELATIONSHIP with each member and partner-institutions, and the importance of quality RESULTS.
The Cagayan Valley Health Research and Development Consortium (CVHRDC) successfully conducted their 4th Annual Health Research Conference dubbed " Breaking Health Disparities, Bridging Health Equity and Building Resilient Communities thru Health Research and Innovation" staged at Isabela State University- Cauayan Campus last November 27-29, 2018.
The three-day activity aimed to promote the advancement of knowledge and encourage the continuing education of researchers/students/teachers in research and innovation in health that will empower and transform communities in the region.
Three speakers namely Dr. Reygene M. Caratiquit, Ms. Maria Jasmine R. Tagudar and Dr. Danilo Antonio A. Alejandro have discussed the following topics:
1. Understanding Equity and Equality in Health
2.Mental Health: A Growing Public Health Dilemma
3. Research Ethics: A Tool in Enhancing Quality of Health Researches
Also, the activity aimed to showcase completed health and health-related researches during the Poster Exhibit and Oral Presentation paneled by Dr. Noel R. Juban and Dr. Jennifer M. Nailes. Furthermore, it encouraged and inspired young and budding researchers to write research proposals that will address the current gaps in the health system.
Said conference was pasrticipated by representatives from Isabela State University- Cauayan Campus, Echague Campus, Ilagan Campus, Cagayan State University- Andrews Campus, Carig Campus, St. Louis University Tuguegarao (USLT), Integrated Midwives Association of the Philippines (IMAP) and Quirino State University (QSU).

DOST 2 Regional Director Sancho A. Mabborang, led the Research Utilization Committee (RUC) Meeting of the members of Cagayan Valley Health Research and Development Consortium conducted at MCNP Board Room, Alimannao Hills, Penablanca, Cagayan on December 10, 2018.
To promote the potential of researches in the region, Dir. Mabborang eyes to organize an activity next year that will invite the sectors and industries in line with health researches to pitch in to the consortium what is the need of the market that they could develop.
Furthermore, he believes that the researchers in the region are well-capacitated and equipped to produce quality and community-relevant researches.
“Naniniwala ako na maraming magaling na researcher dito sa region, kailangan lang silang i-encourage, dapat silang i-motivate; kailangan silang i- embolden”, the director said.
On the other hand, Research Information, Communication, Division Chief and Utilization Division, Chief Merlita Opena encouraged the body to widen their perspectives in Health Research concerns and agenda as well as its immense public dissemination.
“Hindi lang nasa Health at nasa Hospital ang focus ng ating consortium, maraming sectors ang sakop din ng health, and the community must know it, para malaman nila kung ano nga ba ang ginagawa natin. We have to transform research in to policy”, Opena explained.
Meanwhile, in mainstreaming CVHRDC researches and activities, it is set to have more publications and quarterly gazette, as well as radio guesting of its experts in Agham ni Angkuan for massive dissemination of Information to the public.
